Not seen these in the Kly News yet (but thats not to say that they haven't been in), 2 rather super new local history books I treat myself to over the festive period
A HISTORY OF HAWORTH FROM EARLIEST TIMES by Michael Baumber - the definitive history of Haworth ? Hardback with dust sleeve. 300 odd pages.A grand offering from my former History 'O' level teacher !
OXENHOPE & STANBURY THROUGH TIME by Steven Wood / Ian Palmer - lovely softback book featuring old photos coupled with moden photos taken from the same places. Publishd by Amberley publishing (formerly Tempus & The History Press)

Thanks for that anorak. I hadn't heard of them. How much are they? I have some visitors heading my way from Keighley soon and I might get them to purchase for me. I bought the "Haworth Through Time" by Steven Wood/Palmer on my recent visit home.Very good.

Thanks for that Rob. Your book was mentioned on one of the Br. City sites -someone had received it as a present and thought it was a good read. I gave you a good plug! Cheers.

As a follow up to the posting
Hi there,
My name is Chris, I work for Carnegie Publishing in Lancaster.
We've just publishing a comprehensive and well-illustrated new history of Haworth by local author Michael Baumber. We thought this might be a useful resource for your members to know about as it covers the Worth Valley from prehistoric times through to the present day.
The book is stocked in Reid's in Keighley as well as most bookshops in Haworth - also do look out for a review on the book in the Keighley news this month!
There's more information on our website (www.carnegiepublishing.com), but please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like us to provide more information.

Still reading the Haworth book. Really impressed with it.
Not sure about the photo of 'Long Bridge' between Haworth & Oldfield though - I would say the one in the photo most definately isn't the Long Bridge it's supposed to be !
