Does anybody know about the history of the "Jean Junction on High St? I believe at one time it was a print shop, but looking at the ornate frontage, it hardly looks "Industrial"! taken with the stone figures carved higher up, it almost looks "Religious" in aspect.

It was indeed originally a stationary shop/and printers office. I think it was called 'Keighley Printers'. One thing they specialised in was making 'rubber stamps' to order.

Yes it was Keighley Printers in 1969/70 when they did the invites for my wedding.

I also remember this building in the 1960's as Keighley Printers..and old established printing company. It was run by a Vic [can't remember his surname] and later by his son-in -law, a Mr Grainger. Don't know when the printing firm finished...but what a shame this fine building has been left to go to rack & ruin...just look at the building above the first floor level...boarded up windows...grass growing out of the gutters..the current owners should be ashamed of themselves.

You are right it is an absolute disgrace, I hope that the regeneration of North Street and Church Street/Green includes this building and the horrendous two properties by The Star - a TV shop that has been empty for well over 20 years.....with old repairs still in it. The old Kitchen Kraft shop next to it. This should not be allowed. Jeans Junction is I believe full of pigeons in the upstairs room, it beggers belief that this has been allowed to go on in such a beautigul building. Last summer I took lots of pictures of the architecture, figures and fruit and columns etc. I have some copies of plans which say it is the old Liberal Club before it moved to Scott Street. Will scan them and post to our site over next day or so. Thanks for your comments, perhaps we should contact the Keighley News and Town Councillors.

Hi, would you possibly be able to forward me the copies of the plans? I am a GCSE student and having those plans would help me greatly. Thanks, Scarlet.
