I visited the Presbytery at Our lady of Victories this week, what a super place. There is much left, evidence of the splendour this house must have been like when owned by the BRIGG Family. The coaching area is still evident, although now made into a garage/storage area. There is an old mounting block there.
I was sent an article by Father Patrick. "Guard House is said by tradition to have been used as guard house or out post by the Parliamentary troops under Sir Thomas Fairfax, this is possible as a cannon ball of that period has been found there. The property has belonged to the BRIGG Family for over four centuries, but the present building was built about 1760" Any further information is welcome. Jan
