Can I thank Allan Smith, Derek Newiss, Eddie Kelly, Eric, Jules all from our Forum for coming to the meeting last night, if I have missed anyone I am sorry. We had a brilliant night, lots of new information etc etc..................it was lovely putting faces to the people I hadn't met before. Shame we did not have more time.

On a down side, may I say how very very sorry I was, to have left Vale stuck outside in the rain, deperately trying to make us hear. I did not hear my phone above the noise..........and last night when I heard - I felt bad about it...and this morning I feel even worse

Would Vale know if there was such a mill as King's Mill? A lady I spoke to this morning seemed to think my mother might have worked there in late 1940's-50s. I won't see your answer until I get home Friday night unless I have a quick look tomorrow morning. It was nice to meet you and Jan last night.
Might try to do the route you suggested tomorrow morning if the weather is nice and I am stuck to know what to do!!

I always thought King's Mill was on West Lane..............near Devonshire Street & Lustre Street, retires to look through books.........

When I lived on Lustre Street as a youngster (aawww) lots of people in the area worked at King's Mill, possibly a more modern mill in terms of ownership than the others..........I had a query about it a few years ago........................BUT cannot find it.........................

Lots of replies, some more sensible than others! Thanks Andy! although I must admit I wondered if the elderly lady who told me had got mixed up with her loaf of bread!
Jan, thanks for info, when you have time could you tell me whereabouts was King's Mill and was it a worsted mill? I'd like to know some more about it please. Vale, thanks too, and Derek, all very useful to my search. Keep 'em coming.
