I am reposting some mail from my mailbox.......reply direct to Sandra plus if you have pictures or locations on this let us know as well.
Jan I have been looking at your Keighley History website recently which I found fascinating. My father was born in the town, as were his forefathers, but left Yorkshire as a boy, went to London to seek his fortune and ended up in Sussex where we live still! Like many people I am hooked on researching my family history and, although I have discovered much about the Hanson family in Keighley, going back several generations, I would like to find out more about not just who they were but how they lived. I was interested to see from your website that you might have some photos, pictures, etc of old Keighley, and I would be particularly interested to have any information about the following:- Sugden's Houses (probably now demolished) Sugden Mill (formerly Vale Mill) any references to the Hanson family in Keighley - not that they were very well known, but my great-uncle William (Bill) Hanson played cricket for Yorkshire sometime around the first World War, I think. Anyway, any information you have and could pass on to me I would gladly pay for and would be happy to be a member of your Society - not that I could contribute much. I don't think any of our family are around there now - they've all either died or moved away! I look forward to hearing from you and wish you and the Society well. Regards, Sandra Smith (nee Hanson)
