Hi Jan "Jean and Margaret Brown at their farm, Currer Laithe Farm, Long Lee. Jean is the author of 4 books about life on the farm,"
I have been trying to trace the baptism of my gggf, William Lamb, for over 30 years with no luck. The 1841 census had a William Lamb (16) working at Currer Laithe farm in the houshold of John Lund as an agricultural labourer. I cannot be sure this is the correct William Lamb but do you think Jean & Margaret Brown would have any information about the farm from so far back? There was also a Hannah Lamb working at Jack Field, near Currer Laithe, in the houshold of Henry & Rebecca Brigg.

Thanks so much Norman
Had a wonderful time, visiting Cape Town, Jo'burg, Pretoria and spending a whole week at various base camps in the Kruger...........It was made all the better, as I renewed a childhood friendship, with my friend Sue, who I last met over 40 years ago.........................Yes! we were older, fatter and all the rest BUT nothing had changed, and our husbands also hit it off, which was a fantastic bonus.
Sorry I did not make the Family History Meeting, so much to do when I got back, plus one of my daughters is expecting a baby in the next couple of weeks..............
Will try and make the next one, I am a member................
Will also get the info out this afternoon on Currer Laithe.......everything was popped away to leave house tidy......
Be in touch!
Jan
