On Ancestry .co a Gladys Shoesmith born 1924 died Keighley sep 1999 age 74 would this be her. Although it could be her married name.

There were two Glady's born Keighley 1924 Gladys Rowen mum nee Hartley and Gladys M sawley mum nee dean.

The only gladys whitaker i can find was born Keighley 1900 to single mum eliza born Shipley 1865 her parents were john 1829 Earby and Mary born 1829 keighley.
Maryb Where did she get the name Beauclark from?

I remember Gladys very well as she used to live on my postal round up Harewood Road in the 1970's. She was a lovely lady who used to tell me stories of her accordian playing. Sadly towards the end I think she started suffering with dementia.

I don't recall her busking but I remember she told me that as a young girl she used to go and sit on a wall up Harewood Hill and play away much to the appreciation of the locals. As I say a lovely lady and good to talk to. She must have passed away in the 1980's.

Was Beauclerk an accountant living Faraway Fernbank Avenue 1961 and thorn Cottage Bogthorn 1967 his place of work 142,Station bridge. B R Shoesmith in Phone books. Beauclerk married Ivy Brook in keighley 1954,I have searched for marriege of Glady's 1920-31 but could'nt find anything.
