Lewis The lower part of the Royal Arcade will not be left to rot. Frank at Kingfisher is on the ball, and is very proud naturally of the building...............There is no way he will allow this the arcade to become what it used to be. It is now a beautiful momento of how it used to be.....thriving and busy....,Well done to Frank & Thank you from Keighley History. Jan P www.keighleyhistory.co.uk

Hi Lewis It opens fairly regularly.....for visits, but as there are Health and Safety issues with groups of people I am not sure this is going to happen on a permanent basis. The lighting is not too good and the steps down are fairly steep. I am sure Frank has thought all this through, and is doing what he can. The arcade is absolutely stunning, a lot of work has gone into this already. I think we will all have to wait and see what is going to happen, after all this is not going to disappear. www.subbrit.org.uk Masses of info has been posted on this site, which might interest you. Including the Underground Street.

Apologies Lewis.........
In that case, perhaps you could go down to the arcade and seeing if Frank is available................................or the Kingfisher offices on East Parade.

Hi Rob
We are trying to arrange a tour at the moment........................will let you know when a date is arranged. I think there are Health & Safety issues, which have to be thought about.

Maybe try to get hold of a copy of "KEIGHLEY2007" put out by the Keighley News. There is a really good article on page 15 about it's discovery and the interest it attracted. Cheers.
