Hi Everyone,
I'd just like to let you all know that the Gala will be taking place as usual despite all the rain. The procession will set off at 2.00 pm from Windsor Road down through the village and the main event will now be in Oakworth Primary School playground instead of the usual playing field which is just too wet after all this rain. Hope to see you there on Saturday. Fingers crossed for a dry day!
Incidentally, at the gala you will be able to get hold of a copy of the Oakworth Handbook which contains memories of Holden Park - taken from local people. They're priced at just £1.00 each.
And I should add that it has been highly praised by Ian Dewhirst!

Hi Jan, I'm definitely not wearing a silly costume due to the fact that I have a face that needs no embellishment in order to look silly. ;D I am likely to be wearing a blue kagoule unless the sun comes out (yeah, right). and I look like this: During the procession I will be taking the photos for the Village Society (I may have my baby son in a child carrier on my back) and for some of the time I will be staffing the 'Friends of Holden Park' stall in the school playground. It would be great to put names to faces on the day so if any of you spot me please come and say hello! The Handbooks will be on sale at the Oakworth Village Society stall and at the Friends of Holden Park Stall.
