Does anyone have any information about resident bands/orchestras for 'Keighley Theatre' (don't know which one) in the first half of the 20th century? My great uncle Harold Laycock was a professional trombonist and is believed to have played in this orchestra - I'd love to know more details Thanks Jill

Hi Jill
In tidying up the board, I found your query. My family were all musicians and bandpeople......I have masses of photographs, wonder if your Uncle Harold laycock is on any of them. Mine were mainly trumpeters......BUT my Grandmother was a prize winning cornetist....and my own Mum was a piano teacher.................. Unfortunately none of the bands pictures have the names on them.

I guess this must have been the Hippodrome Theatre in Queen St, it would overlook the Bus Station now.

Hi Jan Would love to see any band/orchestra photos you have - any chance you could email 1 or 2? Harold Laycock, trombonist, was born in 1883 if that helps many thanks for response (hurrah for tidying up the boards!) Jill
