Written by Nick Emmet on Dec. 4, 2006 I have traced my family tree to a Joseph Emmet (1773-1820) who lived at INGROW HOUSE in the parish of Keighley. Joseph was a paper maker and owned warehouses at GROVES MILL (later leased out to a Robert Clough). Joseph marreid Susanna Maria Nelson May 9th 1793 Their children Edward Emmet, Henry Emmet,George Emmet, Sarah Emmet, George Nelson Emmet and John Emmet were all born at Ingrow and George and John were burried at Keighley Parish Church (St Andrews?) The family branched out to Halifax of which I know more details. Any information or help re Ingrow House, Grove's Mill or to the Parish Church would be greatly welcomed. The family had a family crest (three bulls heads) and the motto of Mens Conscia Recti. Joseph's father was also a paper maker in Ingrow. His name was John Emmet (1750-1811)He married Ann Cockshott.
