Just had a little giggle to myself, sat in the kitchen remenissing of my childhood aged 3.. whilst living up at 17 Hainworth lane.... here goes , one of the neighbours had a cat ,I always used to be round at ''auntys'' as I used to call her, any way on my way home (yes children could 'lake out' in the 1950s.) anyway I walked passed this collie dog that was eating this bone , going over to stroke it , the dog started to growl , I thought it was purring , as at that age had never heard a dog growl before, any way I stroked it ...... it stroked me , on the top of my head '' with its teeth''.. That is the last thing I remember until I turned up at our family doctors ( Dr Ratterey) bottom of ingrow lane ...... you can guess what the name of his house is (KILMENNY) Yep I got stitched up 'still got the scar, also got a bar of chocolate of thr Dr for not crying... Memories eh,,

Yes our family doctors were Dr Robert and Dr Lilian, it'd be more like late 50's when a fox terrier, running loose bit me whilst laikin cricket against t'bandstand. Mum hadnt reported to the police but Dr Robert did, and a policeman came to see me. The owner was traced and the dog put down.
