Been lurking a while and decided to join.

Hi everybody i after a long time looking have decided to join the forum and try to add things i may know.My old mate Gaffa prompted me, it is good to hear from you after so long.My name is Dave Hutchinson i was born on Aireworth grove Keighley and moved as a baby to Bradford road right opposite Gaffa by Vic park.I was born in 1957 went to school at Eastwood infants ,Parkwood juniors,Swire smith and Greenhead.I started work at Peter Blacks in the warehouses that were dotted about until i got my apprenticeship.I served my time as an apprentice joiner in the joiners shop at Keighley Lifts and went to Keighley tech.I once coming out of my time went to work for myself.I am married with three grown up kids,three grandkids and have lived in Haworth for many years.I am very interested in history and look forward to adding to this great forum.I nearly forgot to add i was involved in the local football scene for many years i played for both Keighley Lifts and Haworth.

Hi Dave,

It has been a long time.
It's good to hear from you and to know you are still around town and doing well.
Hopefully the rest of the family is doing alright.

I am in Santee about 10 miles north east of San Diego in California.
I moved here once I got wed in 1985.
I met Kathy while I was travelling around in the early 80's. She was born by Los Angeles
but moved to Santee in 1971.
I have two boys, 25 and 23.
I work at a local school district and run the Maintenance crew that does all the carpentry, roofing, painting etc. I have been with the District for 28 years and hope to retire in about 4 years when I am 60.
Both me and the family have been home quite a few times over the years. The last time, just me and Kathy, in 2012 to see my mum.
Our Martin has a farm down Marley and has two girls.

This is a great forum and even though I have only been on it a couple of weeks it has brought back so many great (and not so great) memories of the Keighley that we knew.

Ta mate ,i'm glad you have done well for yourself.I didn't realise Martin was still around here, last time i saw him was a good few years ago in the old hall at Haworth ,i assumed he had moved on, mind you we all seem to have had such busy lives over here.If and when you come over again let me know and i will meet up with you if you like.All but two of our 10 clan are still around the Keighley area Except Christine who is in Bury Lancs(spit, spit)  and our Patricia is in Southern Spain take care mate.
