Hi can any one remember the fishing tackle shop on North Street, upstairs from elco fabrics, i think, I think the name was Jimmy Waltons, Great for a young lad like me, listening to Keighley anglers about the match winning ways, back in the 50/60s The likes of Ike Buckley, Archie Tame, and many more, saturday mornings well spent.

What about the kettle and tea pot which was forever in use, I think we spent more time in the shop than on the river bank Mick many a yarn was told in there about the one that got away. Jack Price was then the Secretry of Keighley Angling Club of which I was just a Member I have Club Cards going back for Years I joined the Club when I was 14 and am now aged 85 I do not think that there is any one left who has been in the club as long as I. If any one knows differant I would like to know .I wrote a brief history of the club some time ago I took over from Jack Price as Secretary And got many old minute books back for the Society I did the secretaries job before I had to retire and am now the President Angler

When i moved from Spring Bank to Cullingworth we used to fish Ellar Carr dam there were seven of us who got the fishing rights from the mill when it was still operating , .There were Rod Thomson, Stuart and Lindsey Hawksworth, Glenn Powell, Brian Duncan, Nick Crowther and myself Terry Kitson. When we fished local matches as a team any winnings went into the upkeep and stocking of the dam . There were roach, bream, Carp, tench and trout in there, any other angler know or fished Ellar Carr , this was back in the early 70s. Cheers. T K
