Hello I see from other posts that Nashville Receiving home was also known as the Cottage homes, and I'm wondering if my mother may have been there 1917/18/19. Would anyone know if there are records of that time? I live in Nottinghamshire and so can't easily go and look, but would go and search if they exist. Many thanks

Thanks, Mary I'll contact them.
I wonder if anyone has had any success in identifying the birth mother of an adopted child through these records?
As my mother never made enquiries in her lifetime I am unable to obtain her birth certificate, and her adoption certificate only tells me what I discovered at her death, ie she was adopted.
She does seem to have been in one of the Keighley institutions before she was adopted, any further help/suggestions would be very welcome! Thanks, seeker.

I have had a reply from the library, apparently they do not have any records and suggested I approach Keighley and District local History Society!
