I'm just not sure where to post this, but earlier this evening we were watching an old classic film which was made in 1945. Some of you may recall it. Brief Encounter with Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard. Much of it was centred in and around a railway station and in spite of the cast having mainly London accents or very proper correct English accents, it seems to me that much of the filming was up north. Early in the film I thought I noticed an LMS train go through and then towards the end I am fairly certain the board on the patform read: Hellifield,Skipton,Keighley in small print across the top with underneath in larger print, Leeds and Bradford. Small world eh? When I saw it many, many years ago when I was a youngster, I don't recall noticing those things. I have had a look on Google and it seems that the station scenes were filmed at Carnforth. When you live at the other side of the world, you sure take notice when your home town pops up.

Right, can anybody tell me the name of a film i,ve been wantin to know about for yeers, everybody i ask say as how they,ve seen it but nobody can remember the name, strange eh. The film is in b/w an is a war time/ spy film, the last scene shows two men in trenchcoats an trilby hats on a headland by the side of a windmill , they argue, pull out pistols, they shoot, one man is hit an lurches away an stumbles against the sails of the windmill an is taken round an round on it as the film finishes, ok, come on somebody must know the name of it, cheers---clogger---

Hi Bill
I think there was also a scene where the next train said to Keighley. I remember also catching on the second time around. We saw so many films when we were young and only saw the obvious.
Clogger, I seem to remember that too. Riddle of the sands or some such film rings a bell. I May be totally wrong of course.
