Do we have any dates and other names (e.g. first names) ?? 1881 census lists James Whitehead aged 29 of 59 South Street, occupation was tanner and leather currier. Also listed is Joshua Whitehead aged 37 of 27 High Street, occupation was master tanner and currier employing 4 men but without having any other information it's impossible to tell if these are any relation.

No information on the tannery but a little information to add to your family history stories. I believe my Grandmother worked for your family in the early to mid 1930's. Did members of your family live at 'Crest Villa'? Crest Villa I believe became the Druids Arms. If you are interested I will add the information.

Hello Gloria, Don't know anything about the tannery itself, but I remember Edgar and Rosa WHITEHEAD living in Park Avenue near Lund Park in Keighley. He was one of the tannery family, and her maiden name was TRIGG. They had a son called James.

I knew the Whitehead family in Park Avenue quite well. James (always known as Jimmy) was similar in age to me, and went to Lund Park Youth Club. He went to Ingrow Juniors, then Bradford Grammar School rather than KBGS. I am sorry to tell you he passed away, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, he had been a Solicitor in Cambridge area. I had some email exchanges with him in after the earlier days of Friends Reunited. I remember his dad Edgar was a keen motor biker.
