Hi, I have a cousin in Canada who is painting a picture of his parents meeting on the platform at Keighley station around 1940, "Brief Encounter" style. What he wants to know is what colour the station would have been painted in those days. I used to work for British Rail at Keighley in the early 80's and can only remember it as maroon and cream, which I think it still is. My eldest brother says he remembers it as green.
Can anyone confirm one way or the other?

I do not know this is just a guess, would it not be painted in the colours of the rail company that was operating the station.

I think it was maroon and cream, which were the LMS colours

thanks for that folks, but I have to point out that LMS had 3 different colour schemes for their stations, maroon and cream (as it is now) brown and also green. So I need to know if anyone can remember if the station was ever painted green?

place to look for info might be the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway website. I can tell you for certain that their station at Keighley is Maroon and Cream. They will possibly have pictures of the station from the relevant era.
