Hello Hello, Thanks for your personal message, Dave. Yes, I did indeed contact the previous owner of 'The Elms' with quite a bit of info, but it's a while ago now, and of course I've lost the notes. But just bear with me for a short while I get my act together, and I'll try and come up trumps again.
Warmest Regards, Allan Smith.

Oh, Thank you soo much.
Previous owners did the house up and now we are doing the gardens and New Front Windows.
We love the old house and know bits about it's history as we've made friends with Damems Mill Owners who know quite a bit locally...

Jan - I have passed your regards onto Paul & Gill..
The Elms - I have been into the Library and got some info and going again on Saturday to find out more.. I have a 1851 date of Wm.Haggas living at Pepper Hill House.. Also i have a John Wright who owned the house but died in southport in 1896 = The Elms The Elms was then empty till at least 1902.. In 2007 The Elms was bought off Skipton Properties By a couple who renovated the house and then sold it to us in 2010.
This is all I have now, hopefully I'll find out more on Saturday...

There's mail in the post for you, Dave, with some info, a pic of John Wright, and his family tree. Good luck at the library - some of this might have shortened your search.
