Does anybody have any info about the background of the Oakworth Mechanics- now the site of Holden Hall.
I need to research the original ownershipof the land or building, any trustees etc.
We know that it was something to do with Isaac Holden but that is about it any pointers or dates would be useful- HELP

Welcome to the forums.

There is at least one archive box at the library with information about the Oakworth Mechanics Institute. I had a quick look through it a few months back, There was an indenture with information about a covenant on the landowners responsibility to maintain the boundary wall so that stock weren't allowed to walk off the farmers land on to the grounds of the MI.
