I believe that there might be a possible error in Baumber’s book “From Revival to Regency a History of Keighley and Haworth 1740-1820” page 56, he says that John Greenwood junior married first the daughter of John Clapham of Utley, and after her death Sarah Blakey, possible daughter of John …….. I believe that this is incorrect His first wife was Ann Blakey, daughter of William the woolstapler and we can back that up with not only Robin Greenwood’s work (respected Greenwood historian) but with a church inscription. Ann wife of Mr. John Greenwood, jun., and daughter of Mr. William Blakey, both of Keighley. She died in childbed, 27 June, 1792, in the 18th year of her agewww.skiptoncastle.co.uk/craven-history/17_Parish-of-Kighley.pdfHis 2nd wife was SARAH Sugden daughter of William, I have yet to prove this. Sarah Blakey daughter of John married George Greenwood. For any serious history students out there it might be worth making a note that if they intend to use the marriage information that they need to do some homework on it first as it is possible that I have made an error somewhere along the line.
