Hi, I have a photo from c1900 which is captioned in an album as being 'outside the Hope & Anchor' but the number on the timber door is 235. On the stone pillar of the same door is 307 and the doorway to the right of that (towards Halifax) has the number 305 on the pillar! a bit confusing....will it be outside the hope & anchor?...I'd always been told by old family members that it was!

I found this situation on Low Street, when a new street was built the number changed, could this be what happened when New Bridge Street was built?

The Hope and Anchor is still there, pop down with your photo and see if you can spot anything that is still the same

Hi marknic37, would it be possible to have a copy of the old photo, please?. The Keighley Harriers were based there in 1900 before they moved round the corner to 19 Woodhouse Road (see my thread '19 Woodhouse Road') I am trying to accumulate photos of all the pubs where the Harriers and the Walking Club were based .... a lot!!!!! Some are much easier to find than others, of course!
