Just heard on Leeds radio that Dalton Mills on fire and about 4 floors already gone. It had been sold at auction 2 weeks ago.
Another sad day.

Heard it again and it says it wasn't sold and half of the building has now gone.

Hi Everyone
Do not worry too much, there is a section that is badly damaged which overlooks the footpath between the mill and Burgess Ford, but the main facade along Dalton lane is unaffected.
The roof has gone, but the main wall of the damaged section is still standing, subject to specialist survey.
At 11:00 today there were only two fire appliances at the scene, one was the hydraulic platform being used by the fire service to survey the damage and check for 'hotspots'.
Like everyone else I am disappointed that another landmark in Keighley has been damaged, but do not start speculating as to the cause. The Fire Service are the ones who will identify the cause, and should it turn out to be 'none accident' then the Police will search for the offenders.
The Fire Service in Keighley have had many incidents over the years involving our historical buildings, and once again they should be recognised on their exceptional work on behalf of the people of Keighley.

I have read in the T&A that they will have to pull the walls down on the fire damaged section. They are not safe.
