From our guestbook on the web.......
I am trying to find history of Moss Carr Farm. My Great Grandfather John Thompson farmed the farm and died there in 1933. I would like to know who took the farm after his death. Also a Jane Elizabeth Wells was living there at the time of her death in 1925. Her husband was Herbert Wells. They had a daughter Evelyn Verna who married a Thompson, would like to know if her husband was connected to my family and why the Wells family were at Moss Carr at the same time as my family? Hope some one can help

Looking at the 1911 census John thompson born 1861 and wife Ada born keighley. They are at Moss Carr Farm. They had 11 children 2 of which died. There is a Evelyn John thompson born 1904 in keighley, could this be the Jack thompson that married Evelyn Verena Wells in keighley 1931.
Evelyn Verena Thompson wife of Jack named on Herbert George henry wells will when he died 1934 of Moss carr farm.He left £1297.19s.6d

Moss Carr Farm was owned by the Thompson family up to the 1950's There were two sisters, Kate and Ada Thompson and a brother ( I can't remember his name) He married and had one daughter Margaret Thompson. Kate and Ada delivered our milk for over twenty years. Kate never married but Ada married in her fifties. Margaret Thompson married and moved away from Keighley. the two sisters retired and the property was bought by a family named Ingham.
